Official Rules

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION: No purchase or test drive necessary. A purchase or test drive will not improve chances of winning. Void where prohibited. BUICK PONTIAC GMC'S HAT TRICK GIVEAWAY ("Sweepstakes") begins on 11/03/08 at 5 A.M. and ends on 12/13/08 at 5 P.M. ("Sweepstakes Period"). All times in the Sweepstakes refer to Central Time. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

TO ENTER:
Entrants may go to a Buick, Pontiac or GMC ("BPG") participating dealership in Chicagoland/NW Indiana. A list of participating dealerships can be found at www.gmdrives.com. An employee at the participating dealership will collect each entrant's data, including name, address, telephone number, email address, and date of birth and will enter at their online entry area. The Sweepstakes includes an "instant win" random drawing whereby each entrant will be informed at the dealership if he/she is an instant winner, as well as a "second-chance" drawing component. If an entrant is not an instant winner, his/her entry will be included in a random drawing for the second-chance prizes. All entries become the property of Chicago Buick Pontiac GMC Dealer Advertising Association, 1025 West Everett Road, Lake Forest, IL. 60045. ("Sponsor"), and will not be acknowledged or returned.

Or, send a postcard or plain piece of paper with entrant's name, age, address, phone number, and e-mail address to PSI Advantage, Hat Trick Giveaway, PO Box 1961, Troy, MI 48099. Entries must be received no later than December 13, 2008. All entries received will be entered in the "instant win" random drawing and, if not an instant winner, in the random drawing for second-chance prizes, on the same terms as dealership entrants.

Entries at dealerships must be made before 5 P.M. on 12/13/08 to be eligible for the Sweepstakes. One winner per household. Entrants may enter once per person (based on first and last name, mailing address, email address; if any of the information is entered more than once a message will be sent informing the entrant that he/she has already registered to win) during the Sweepstakes period. Multiple entries received from any person or email address beyond this limit will void all such additional entries. In case of a dispute over the identity of an entrant who made a potentially winning entry, Sponsors reserve the right to deem that the entry was made by the registered subscriber of the email address submitted at the time of entry. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use entrant's name, city, state, likeness, image, and/or voice for purposes of advertising, promotion, and publicity without additional compensation.

Entrants will receive information from Buick, Pontiac and GMC after entering. If entrant no longer wishes to receive materials from Buick Pontiac GMC, entrant may refer to GM privacy policy, http://www.gmcontactpreferences.com indicated.

ELIGIBILITY: Open only to permanent, legal U.S. residents who are reside in the following counties in the WGN-TV viewing area: in Illinois: Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, LaSalle, Lake, McHenry, Will; in Indiana, Jasper, Lake, LaPorte, Newton, Porter, who are 18 years of age or older as of November 3, 2008. Officers, directors, and employees of Sweepstakes Entities, members of these persons' immediate families (spouses and/or parents, children, and siblings, and their spouses), and/or persons living in the same households as these persons (whether or not related thereto) are not eligible to enter or win. "Sweepstakes Entities" means the Sponsor as well as BPG Dealer Group, Martin Retail Group, GM R*Works, PSI Advantage, Inc., WGN-TV, WGN Radio, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Tribune Interactive, Tribune Company, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, and affiliate companies and administrative, advertising, and promotion agencies and any other entity involved in the development, administration, promotion, or implementation of the Sweepstakes.

WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION:
Winners:
Instant winners will be notified immediately after entering at a participating dealership at their online entry area. Those entering by mail will be notified by phone and/or e-mail if their entry yields an instant winner alert once entered into the computer by PSI Advantage, Inc, the executors of the promotion. All instant-winner prizes will be mailed to the individual winners on or about ten (10) days from winning notification. Instant winners are ineligible to win hockey tickets. BP Gas cards are subject to terms and conditions of use established by BP.

Instant Win Prizes:
  • Seventy-Five (75) $25.00 BP gas cards
  • Thirty (30) $50.00 BP gas cards
  • Twenty (20) $100.00 BP gas cards
  • Four (4) $250.00 BP gas cards
Second-Chance Winners:
Second-chance winners will be selected in random weekly drawings by PSI, on November 10, November 17, November 24, December 1, December 8 and December 15, 2008, from all entries received by the date of the drawing. There will be fifty-five (55) Second Chance winners. Twenty-Five (25) winners will receive a pair of tickets to see the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Detroit Red Wings on January 1, 2009 at Wrigley Field. Tickets to the January 1, 2009 game must be picked up at WGN-TV, 2501 W. Bradley Place, Chicago, IL 60618 on the day of the game - January 1 - between 9-11am. Thirty (30) winners will receive a pair of tickets to see a regular season Chicago Blackhawks game on dates to be determined by WGN-TV at the United Center. There will be nine or ten Second Chance prize winners selected per week until all 55 winners are chosen. Second-Chance Winners will be notified by phone and email on or around Tuesday November 11, 18, 25, December 2, 9 and 16. Tickets to the regular-season Blackhawks games must be picked up at WGN-TV, 2501 W Bradley Place, Chicago, Il. 60618, from January 5 - 16, 2009.

Estimated Retail Value of a pair of tickets to the Wrigley Field game is $600.
Estimated Retail Value of a pair of tickets to a United Center game is $50.

Sponsor will determine specifics of the prizes in its sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute similar prizes of equal or greater value. All taxes and other expenses, costs, or fees associated with the acceptance and/or use of prize are the sole responsibility of instant winners and second-chance winners (each, a "Winner"). Prize cannot be transferred by Winner or redeemed for cash and is valid only for the items detailed above, with no substitution of prize by Winner. If prize is unclaimed, it will be forfeited, and an alternate Winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries.

Sponsor will have no responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, or any other change by any company or person providing any element of prize due to reasons beyond Sponsor's control, and is not responsible or liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence thereof, including delays or damage while in the mail. Scheduled dates and times of ticketed events are subject to change or cancellation. Winners will be required to execute a release of liability when prizes are claimed or prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries.

CONDITIONS: By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees on behalf of entrant and entrant's heirs, executors, and administrators (a) to release and hold harmless Sweepstakes Entities "BPG Dealer Group, Martin Retail Group, GM R*Works, PSI Advantage, Inc., WGN-TV, WGN Radio, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Tribune Interactive, Tribune Company" and their respective officers, directors, and employees (collectively, "Released Parties") from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from such entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of prize or any portion thereof; (b) to indemnify Released Parties from any and all liability resulting or arising from the Sweepstakes and to hereby acknowledge that Released Parties have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to prizes, including express warranties provided exclusively by prize supplier that are sent along with prize; (c) if selected as a Winner, to the posting of such entrant's name on www.gmdrives.com and the use by Released Parties of such name, voice, image, and/or likeness for publicity, promotional, and advertising purposes without additional compensation, and, upon request, to the giving of consent, in writing, to such use; and (d) to be bound by these Official Rules and to waive any right to claim any ambiguity or error therein or in the Sweepstakes itself, and to be bound by decisions of the Sponsor and others charged with administering the Sweepstakes, all of which are binding and final. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in disqualification from the Sweepstakes.

ADDITIONAL TERMS: Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from any promotion any entrant it believes has intentionally violated these Official Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage the Sweepstakes or the operation thereof is unlawful and subject to legal action by Sponsor, who may seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The failure of Sponsor to comply with any provision of these Official Rules due to an act of God, hurricane, war, fire, riot, earthquake, terrorism, act of public enemies, actions of governmental authorities outside of the control of Sponsor (excepting compliance with applicable codes and regulations), or other "force majeure" event will not be considered a breach of these Official Rules. Released Parties are not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical, or computer failures of any kind; for inaccurate transcription of entry information; for errors in any promotional or marketing materials or in these Official Rules; for any human or electronic error; or for entries that are stolen, misdirected, garbled, delayed, lost, late, damaged, or returned. Sponsor reserve the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes or any element thereof (including, without limitation, these Official Rules) without notice in any manner and for any reason (including, without limitation, in the event of any unanticipated occurrence that is not fully addressed in these Official Rules). In the event of cancellation, modification, or suspension, Sponsor reserves the right to select Winners in a random drawing from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received at the time of the event warranting such cancellation, modification, or suspension. Notice of such cancellation, modification, or suspension will be posted at www.gmdrives.com Sponsor may prohibit any entrant or potential entrant from participating in the Sweepstakes, if such entrant or potential entrant shows a disregard for these Official Rules; acts with an intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other entrant, Sponsor, or Sponsor's agents or representatives; or behaves in any other disruptive manner (as determined by Sponsor in their sole discretion).
